NOTE: The Member Association mail-in price is for those who qualify or have family members who qualify for membership in the organization. This association readily accepts members who pay the annual dues of $8 and meet their qualifications. Other services are included. The Buyers' Club member organization readily accepts membership applications from those who pay the annual dues of $35. Many household goods and grocery items are available at a reduced price. There are several locations in the metropolitan area. The prices for Pharmacy E, which is an area chain, were verified to be the same in Northern Virginia and in DC. Several pharmacies, both local chain stores and national, did not respond to our request for quotes even though they advertise to be competitive. We found that one chain has a corporate policy against participating in pricing surveys. We recommend that you perform your own price survey and expect that it will take a couple of weeks before you receive all the results that you are going to receive.

Transplant Recipients International Organization - (TRIO)
What is TRIO?
TRIO is an organization of chapters and individuals committed to improving the quality of life of transplant candidates, recipients, their families, and the families of organ and tissue donors. TRIO serves its members in the areas of:
• Awareness - Promoting organ and tissue donation as an important social responsibility.
• Support - Providing support to transplant candidates, recipients, their families and donor family members.
• Education - Educating ourselves on developments in organ and tissue donation, transplantation, medications, social issues and finances.
• Advocacy - Working with federal, state, and local governmental bodies to resolve the issues that affect the welfare of our members.
What is NCAC TRIO?
NCAC TRIO is a volunteer, not-for-profit Virginia (501-C) corporation operating in the Washington DC metropolitan area. NCAC TRIO is a chapter of TRIO International which operates as an independent chapter of about 250 active members.
Why belong to TRIO?
Joining and supporting an organization is an individual decision. But together we are stronger than we would be alone. There are many who could benefit from your knowledge and experience and you may benefit from theirs. The organ shortage is acute and we need everyone's help to promote organ donation whenever and wherever we can. And only united will we have a strong enough voice to influence the issues in transplantation that affect us all.
