TRIO is an organization of individuals committed to improving the quality of life of transplant candidates, recipients, their families, and the families of organ and tissue donors. TRIO serves its members in the areas of:

• Awareness - Promoting organ and tissue donation as an important social responsibility.

• Support - Providing support to transplant candidates, recipients, their families and donor family members.

• Education - Educating ourselves on developments in organ and tissue donation, transplantation, medications, social issues and finances.

• Advocacy - Working with federal, state, and local governmental bodies to resolve the issues that affect the welfare of our members.

About NCAC TRIO...

NCAC TRIO is a volunteer, Virginia not-for-profit corporation operating in the Washington DC metropolitan area. NCAC TRIO operates under the rules and by-laws of TRIO International, but maintains an independent approach to the overall TRIO mission of donor awareness, support, education and advocacy for transplant candidates, recipients, their families and donor families. TRIO members are from all walks of life.

Why TRIO?

Joining and supporting an organization is an individual decision. But together we are stronger than we are alone. There are many who could benefit from your knowledge and experience and you may benefit from theirs. The organ shortage is acute and we need everyone's help to promote organ donation whenever and wherever we can. And only united will we have a strong enough voice to influence the issues in transplantation that affect us all.

Our membership activities include donor awareness, policy/legislation, programs, newsletter, membership, mentor, meetings, parties, dinners, picnics, public relations, Olympics, finance/fundraising, resource guide and donor appreciation.
